Type of a scam Government Grant

I got a facebook message from a friend of mine on this grant program, they wanted me to fill out an application to get a grant like my friend said she did, I tried to talk to her about our church retreat too but they kept steering back to the grant and the person on facebook they wanted me to friend to get the link from her was Linda Williamson, with the government assistance program. So I did that application which asked me for name, address, phone, email, birthdate, my home ownership, monthly income amount and my passport number and the agent name of Linda Williamson then I submitted it and they sent me an email saying I could get a grant of $125,041.32. They wanted to pay upfront cash of 10% for processing which amounted to $1250.00. They asked me for my zip code to see if they had a bank in my area which they did not so she wanted me to get the cash and buy Amazon Gift cards and send her the codes on the back and that is when I got suspicious. So I called the Sheriff office and they told me it was a scam and told me to call the friend who was messenging me on facebook. So I called Bev and she was not the one sending it to me actually and someone took over her account and impersonated her and sent this to all her friends, so I went back on facebook and unfriended and blocked Linda Williamson when I found out it was a scam. I did not get money or gift cards. There is no way to tell facebook about a scam but I guess you have had other instances of this.
