Type of a scam Phishing
I just received a message from who I thought was my uncle and they asked a bunch of questions, then sent me a number to text and give a bunch of info to. Of course the info is email address, mother’s maiden name, and a few other details. There is an actual website that looks legit too, but only repeatedly gives the same information on every page and link. Uses *** ***’s name, and you know, he is rich, so maybe he would do something charitable. Supposedly you can get a one time cash payment for a whole year’s mortgage payments or lease payments. Hmm. Wouldn’t that be amazing. When I sent a message back to say I am feeling wary about this all texts have stopped. Even though the person said it is legit and real. I should have realized sooner that it wasn’t real because I have never heard from this uncle on messenger before.
