I applied for a loan online. I got a call from Edward Johnson of Gold Bank. He said I was approved for a $10,000 loan. I said I don’t need that much. He asked if I could afford $250 a month, and I said I could. He said he would deposit $968 in the bank. He told me to keep $68, and send back the $900. He said the check would be deposited in the bank, and I could use it the same day. I checked a couple of days later, and my bank sent the check back because it was fraud. My bank closed my account. I called him back, and told him he was a liar. He got mad and said he didn’t cause any fraud and hung up. My social security check and pension check were returned because I no longer have an account for them to be deposited into. This happened November 2nd. I went to the bank yesterday, and my checks were sent back. My cell phone and email are shut off as I couldn’t pay.

The scammer identifies him / herself as a loan agent with Gold Bank. They tell you to go to Wal-Mart or Walgreens, or wherever your local money transfer service is. Buy a Gold prepaid Master Card, load $220 on it and transfer it to them, where they will then load the card with the loan amount you requested, and the $220 you just sent them.
