Type of a scam Employment
I first received a text message from a man named Mr. Harrison James, the Hiring Manager of Gedeon Richter PLC. The text message came from this number, 630-954-9471. I found it to be strange that I received a text about an employment offer because typically, all legitimate businesses or employers contact the candidates via telephone call. He informed to me that he discovered my resume from Indeed.com and reviewed it, and told me that I was selected for a job position as a data entry clerk working from home. Mr. Harrison James asked me to download the Google Hangouts App to my phone so we could continue chatting there and we did. He gave me a 15-20 minute interview via the Google Hangouts App. Then, I asked him for a tangible legitimate business number to contact him on but strangely, he never gave it to me. We also communicated through Google mail. Then just recently, I received a check in the mail as funds to purchase my work from home office materials. I went to my bank to deposit it. I had a weird feeling about the check so I before I deposited the check, I decided to have my bank to run a brief investigation on the check. They verified the check and it was confirmed that it was a fraudulent check. My bank retained the check and discarded it.
