In September 2015, a Geekz representative called me saying that a virus had infected my computer and that my IP address was being accessed by others. Thinking they were the Geek Squad (I had bought my computer just a month before at Best Buy), I paid them $149.99 to fix the problem. In September 2016 they called me again and hassled me to purchase their virus protection again. I resisted. In October 2017, they called me once again. Foolishly, I gave them remote access to my computer since I was getting pop ups that said my security was compromised. They told me I needed to pay them $200 to fix the problems on my computer. When I did not pay, they locked up my computer and now I have no access to my computer. They are not a Virus Protection company — rather a Virus Infecting company!! BEWARE!! I hope others learn from my mistake.
