Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
Today, June 27, 2017, I received a telephone call from Brian Honeycutt who stated he was calling from ECRA and that I had won a sweepstakes in the amount of $975,000.00. Mr. Honeycutt told me to call United States Sweepstakes @ 1 855 254 4629. I was given a claim number of CP3767. I hung up and then called 1 855 254 4629 and spoke Michelle Williams. Ms. Williams stated congratulations and that they would deliver the check at 1:30 p.m. on June 30, 2017 and provided the name of a female who would deliver the check, Ms. Diane Kennedy. Additionally, I was qualified to win a three day/four night deal in Las Vegas. She verified my name and address and when I received the check there would be a letter to take to my bank. I then called Mr. Honeycutt to verify that I talked to Ms. Williams and Ms. Kennedy. Mr. Honeycutt stated I would need to get a certified check from the bank for $1,500.00. He also stated that he would give me a man’s name and address to send the check to: Richard Osborne @ 1045 Anderson Avenue, Suite 5H, Bronx, NY 10452. At that time I hung up.
