Type of a scam Employment
My daughter applied for a job on glass door.com. She is active duty military (about to separate) and learned about the site during her TAPS class. She was very excited to get a job offer after applying for a office assistant job. She received an email. "the job you applied for is no longer available but I have another position you may be interested in". The job is a "personal assistant". "I travel a lot and will pay you to go buy art and mail it via my UPS account". "Job is flexible and you can choose any 3 days a week to work and I will pay you $400/week". Also claims that they would pay her AD&D Insurance and 401k
Thankfully she called me to talk about this exciting opportunity and I convinced her this is a common scam where the employer would send her a check to cover her expenses and then she would unknowingly go and buy art or whatever and mail it to the employer. Eventually she would have found out that the check was bad and she had spent her own money. They are obviously targeting young naive individuals and the fact that they are getting to them through a website being suggested to them in their class lends it legitimacy.
