Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a priority letter in the mail with from someone I did not know by the name of Patricia Dolan at Oakhurst Ridge Rd. in Clarkston, MI. 48348. Inside the priority enevelope was a letter for an asignment task to 1st: confirm the receipt of the package
2nd: send my full name and the amount of the check to this number 209-208-8346.
3rd: check bank name, date received, and cell for effective texting and confirm that I would be completing the task w/in a day or 2 after depositing the check in My Bank account.
4th: $200 Bonus wa promised on the next assignment if I carried the first one out exactly as requested.
The check was written in the amount of $2468.65 but the letter states that the check was for $2,468.00 in which I was to spend $2000 in purchase of EBAY gift cards, $468 would be my compensation for carrying out the task.
I am to scratch off the silver part on the back of the cards and photo copy it and the front and back of the card and text the pics to them at the number above. Keep the cards as they will be used for your next assignment.
