Lady introduced herself as Emily and said "hello" multiple times and said she was having trouble with her headset. She said that we previously stayed at one of their resorts. While she did not ask "if I could hear her", I may have said the word "yes" after she repeated herself by saying "hello". I said I was not interested and hung up.

I get these calls every day. I usually hang- up, but I was tired of getting them today so I answered and replied "yes" to the questions. I thought they would transfer me to someone and they would remove my number from the list. Instead, after I said "Yes" they hung-up on me. Scammer "Emily" pretends to not have her headset on. asks a list of yes or no questions…are you over 18, do you make over 40,000/year and do you have a valid credit card.

Here’s the transcript from Google Voice (they had an obnoxiously bubbly woman make the recording, and there are clear pauses after the questions).

I only reason I answered the call was because I was waiting on a call from a hospital in the Houston area. They asked if I could hear them and I said yes, she said her name was Emily, and speaking very fast, started in about vacation time in Orlando. She continued to repeat herself and the call was terminated. It was all a matter of seconds. I feel like this was a call where they get you to say yes.

Gregarious and friendly lady called me three times. Each time at the beginning, she claimed she couldn’t hear me and needed to adjust her headset. I assume she wanted me to say, "Yes?’ instead of "Hello". Said I qualified/won a stay in FL. I told her I’m on do not call list all three times. She lied about not being able to hear me each time. When I reverse looked up the number it was pinged as being a fraud and several people complained of the same experience. She also called my husbands number.

My cell phone rang with a number from Jacksonville, FL on the screen. I answered. The woman said, "Hi this is Emily with Customer Service, can you hear me okay?" I said, "uh-huh." I did not say, "yes" but the message continued to tell me about a vacation package I could buy. I immediately hung up.

Called my number and didn’t answer then said she was having trouble getting headset on. I can’t remember if she got me to say yes or not. But it sounded a lot like the "can you hear me" scam. She then went on to tell me that I am able to sign up for cruises. Pretty sure it was a recording.

Person introduces herself as Emily, then states she has trouble with her headset and says "Can you hear me now?" and I answered "Yes." Then proceeds to tell you about what vacation you won and asks you to answer a couple yes/no questions. They record your "yes" answer and may use it against you in the future to confirm purchases.

I received a bot call noting that since I had "stayed with their resort before" I was going to be offered a drastically reduced vacation in Orlando. The bot used the "my headset needed adjusting" line as well as asking me if they could "ask me a few questions." After I realized it was a scam, I said "no thank you" and hung up, but I’m afraid they may have recorded me saying "yes" at the beginning of the call after the bot said hello several times.

few minutes ago, I received a call. Silence at first, then lady saying that she was having trouble with her headset and that her name was Emily. Answered the call because it came up as a local number. I said I was not interested and hung up. I have not lost any money yet (too soon to know anything). This seems to be related to the "can you hear me scam."

2-6-2017 @ 11:39 a.m. Incoming Call from Chattanooga, TN began with female caller saying "Oh, Hello. I was having trouble with my headset. My name is Emily and…". This is not the first time I have received a call like this so I immediately hung up. In previous calls like this, I have attempted to tell them I am not interested, but apparently it is a recording as they can not hear me. These calls are becoming an aggravation.

I have received this call on my cell phone twice, and once on my business telephone. The (recorded) female caller initiates the conversation by feigning a problem with her headset, asking my if I can hear her. She then goes into a speech about how I recently stayed at one of their resorts and that I’ve been selected to participate in a survey. If I remember correctly, the speech goes on to state that I have a chance to win a stay at another one of their participating resorts if I participate. I hung up quickly this time, however, as I recognized it as the same scam.
