Total money lost $219.84
Type of a scam Other
They already had our names, address, phone numbers, and school names. They first called our son and requested to talk to his parents. She said her name was Blaine Daniels. She said that we needed to pay for the ACT/SAT materials we requested. This is in the amount of $219.84. We would receive a CD in the mail. After 30 days, if we returned the CD, we would get a refund. The website says this CD has test review materials and refers to the SAT and ACT as "The Test Scores." This lady took credit card information and gave us a number (888-850-4093) to call back if we had questions. She did not introduce herself from the start. We had to ask her in order to get her name and company. She said she is from Educational Testing Services, but the website says the company is "University Achievement," (https://www.testingtutors.org) which does not match the domain name. She asked for email addresses and address confirmation. These people say that they are trying to "Help underprivileged students," yet take advantage of their families by asking for 200 dollars. Luckily, we felt stupid and realized we got scammed and disputed the charge. Some parents are just trying to do the best for their students and are willing to spend the $200 if for a good cause and if they think they will be refunded. Unfortunately neither if those things are true about this company. They are NOT trying to help underprivileged students, they are thieves and liars. These are [censored]ty people with [censored]ty agendas.
