Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
It was advertised as a Mystery shopper job. They sent me an email and made it look like it was coming from someone who worked for the same organization I did. I filled out an application and they sent me a check about 3 weeks later. The check was for 1150.00. I was to deposit the check in my bank. Take 150.00 for myself, do a survey in the store and buy two 500.00 gift cards from the store(Walmart). And then wait for further instructions. I don’t as suspicious so I to the check to the bank where it came from(Wells Fargo) and they told me it was a fraudulent check.
