Type of a scam Online Purchase
My son asked me to contact a person by e-mail who had advertized a truck for sale $3000 on Omaha Garage Sales on facebook. The person stated the truck transction would be through ebay motor services, and when the name address and phone number of the buyer was supplied, that ebay motor services would send an invoice by e-mail, deliver the truck etc. My son agreed to the proposed purchase and the info was sent. The invoice which was sent was a very official looking and convincing invoice (I’ve bought things through ebay and it looked legitimate) with the ebay logo etc. When I noticed the payment was suppose to be by iTunes gift cards and that the numbers should be sent by email back to ebay etc, I became suspicious. ebay confirmed that they never use iTune gift cards for payment. This person or persons is perpetrating a scam using facebook sites and phoney ebay sites.
pressure facebook to police their sites to get scammers out. Find out the true origin of this scam and perpetrator before innocent individuals are suckered in.
