Type of a scam Employment
Received a text from a person saying their name was Lauri Crawford from Essilor. The text told me to use Yahoo Messenger or Google Hangouts…So I did and had a 45 minute with a person name Kevin Rupp of Essilor. The job entail doing work from home until their office in Jacksonville as set up. I would have to buy some software that would help in the doing my job. I told the them that I would not paid for any materials needed. He said, "No problem." That he would issue me a check for any materials that I would need, with that, he offer me a job and told me to be back on-line the next day at 8 am. When I missed the appointment time, I got a text ask where was I and I needed to be on-line. I replied with several texts, asking to talk with someone. I got no reply. Then I checked the names given on-line. The names associated are actual employees of Essilor. I called the corporate headquarters to verify the employment offer. I was able to talk with the Kevin Rupp assistant, she inform me that Mr Rupp had not offer employment and that I was being scammed. I then reply back that I was refusing their job offer. I did not get any other reply from them. But, did receive a check via FedEx this morning, which was return to send.
