Type of a scam Phishing
Received a call from someone claiming to be Lt John Hughes at Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. He stated that I had been issued a summons to appear in court in front of Judge Leon Johnson and that I had signed said summons approximately a month ago, then missed the court date and now had 2 citations, failure to appear & contempt of court. He stated I would need to appear at the local courthouse at 301 West Markham to resolve the matter. He stated that I was to be a witness in a case involving a past employer (he was able to give the name and address of employer). After telling me this he told me I should not hang up and that I would need to bring bond money in the form of cash cards. I hung up on him, he repeatedly called back while I was on the phone with the real judge’s office. After the judge’s office confirmed that I had no such citations, I answered one of "Lt Hughes" phone calls and told him to stop calling and that I have already spoken with the judge’s office myself, he never called again.
