I was contacted by Lakeside Escrow Services regarding the purchase of vacation property/timeshare in Mexico. After reviewing and signing what appeared to be legitimate contract documents, I was asked to wire transfer money to Mexico for VAT fees. When I hesitated to send the funds, the representative threatened legal action against me.
