Total money lost $94.99
Type of a scam Online Purchase
This co. has an internet ad for a trial offer of "Derme Luxe," which you can get for $4.99. It’s a skincare cream which may or may not be helpful to you – it wasn’t for me – but that’s not the warning here. The warning here is that if you don’t cancel within 2 weeks, you will now find a "recurring charge" of $94.99 on your credit card statement. They swear this "terms & conditions" box was visible & that I checked it. It was NOT visible, & they show no proof that I checked it, only a generic picture of the box they submitted to my credit card co., after I had disputed it with them.
When I called to try to straighten it out, here is a literal description of the "customer service" I received: the rep repeatedly cut me off (raising her voice louder each time), talked over me (louder each time), refused to let me finish a sentence, and ended with the threat that "I better drop it, b/c others who have tried this have failed!" (Others? How many would that be, exactly?? And tried what? Objecting to a scam? The nerve of people.) I am out $94.99, but maybe I can keep them from scamming someone else.
Even if their skincare works & is helpful, please realize that, if you sign on with this company, this is what you are dealing with. Totally unethical business practice & customer service. In fact I feel it is important to rename their "customer service" what it very accurately, actually is: "customer fraud & attempted intimidation." BUYER BEWARE. BIGTIME.
