Type of a scam Online Purchase

I wanted to buy puppy. Price seemed too good to be true, and they wanted me to send money with an app I’d never heard of instead of PayPal or similar. I researched website, nothing bad. I researched email and found it he been used in puppy scams and complaints have been filed. All they did was change their URL.

The website has a long written description about the legit breeding of these puppies at a family owned farm. They show pictures and descriptions of the puppies and their parents and brag that they are from champion bloodlines.

They ask you to contact them by e-mail regarding the puppy you want to purchase. They respond by e- mail and text messages. They do not pick up the phone claiming they are too busy.

They ask you to send the money by zelle from your bank to [email protected]

as soon as possible to get a coupon for free shipping.

Then you get a call from the shipping company, The Continental Express Inc. asking for pet travel insurance money to be sent to the same above gmail account, also by zelle.

They say the puppy is stuck at the airport waiting for a night flight and travel insurance money is refunded later.

Then after you send the money, the shipping company calls you in the early morning to say that the puppy is in another state but you need to send $2500 to get her released to enter NYS. If you don’t do this, you can face animal abandament charges.
