Purchased a 1991 Alfa Romeo got all the paperwork and shipping info, paid $8750.00 said car was ready to ship, after 1 weeks nothing, contacted the seller he said it was picked up and I should have it the following week, nothing,realized I have been scammed, hope Ben staffieri name used, has a wonderful day and enjoy s scamming people out of their hard earned money.
I purchased a vehicle online and have a sales contract and shipping info, but there isn’t any tracking information, it just says in transit, no more contact once the money has been sent, the phone # doesn’t answer, the emails don’t go through, I wired money to a supposed secure escrow account, but still can’t get in touch with anyone, so I am about to call the police, This vehicle was supposed to be in idaho, but then ended up in miami, and the guy I talked to said he is also worked on an off shore oil rig.

Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was looking to buy a classic Pontiac Trans Am for both an investment and a car for my son to drive to school. I had inquired to a number of listing advertised on the internet and received a reply from a Robert Smith who claimed to own the attached advertised car and that a previous sale had just fallen through. He claimed to work on an offshore oil rig, but had a 3rd party company in place to facilitate transfer of the car from Miami, FL to me in Jacksonville, FL and that I’d have 7 days to get the car checked and decided whether to buy it or not. We agreed to terms and he agreed to facilitate the sale. I was then contacted by East West Shipping in Miami, who said they had the car and would put together the paperwork. Within about 10 days, I received a purchase contract and shipping documents. The agreement required the $7100 purchase price and $480 shipping be costs to be wired to this third party to facilitate the shipment. I wired the money to the Escrow company, Pro M Depot LLC and their bank account with Fifth Third Bank. Within the week, I was emailed that the car should ship and arrive within 4 days. On the delivery date, the shipper emailed me that the truck was 5 hours out. I never received the car and have not gotten a reply from the shipper or the seller. I never spoke with anyone on the phone. All correspondence took place via email.
