Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was approached on www.castingcallpro.com, a legitimate website for actors, about a job modeling handbags. When I inquired about it, I was given all the details about the job. I was also asked questions that a legitimate modeling agency would ask, such as for references, additional photos and measurements. I was given a contract to sign and then a fraudulent check was sent to me by courier. Following the contract, I deposited the check in my account, deducting my "advance booking fee" and then forwarded the rest to the "designers" by wire. When I asked why the agency did not pay the designers themselves, I was told that it resulted in mixups where the models did not receive their wardrobe in time for the shoot. Three days later, the check was found to be fraudulent, my accounts have been frozen and I’ve been left destitute.
