I was trying to apply for Missouri’s LIHEAP assistance program for help paying my utility bills. So I googled LIHEAP Missouri and was directed to a legitimate-looking website to apply for LIHEAP assistance. Well, I filled out the application and kept getting redirected to scam websites, and my email inbox was FILLED with spam from LIHEAPassistance.org saying I qualified for various "winnings" if I signed up on other scam sites. Turns out it’s not affiliated with the government assistance program at all. Now my phone& email gets push messages constantly for advertisements.
