Type of a scam Debt Collections
I received an automated call from phone number 850-409-3272, which told me to "hold the line" for more information. A woman named Kathy then picked up, said she was with "Legal Outsourcing" and was collecting on behalf of "HSBC." I began to explain that I have NO outstanding debts and NO accounts with HSBC. She became very rude, continued speaking over me, while I was attempting to speak, threatened me with "going to court" if I refused to pay over the phone, and then hung up on me when I refused. I then called the number back and was hung up on again…twice. I then proceeded to research the phone number and business name "Legal Outsourcing." The phone number is from Crestview, FL and there is no record of a company called "Legal Outsourcing." Upon a little more research with whitepages.com, I come across the business name "McImetro Access Transmission Services." I assume this is the company Kathy works for; however the Florida corporation is INACTIVE. So how are they operating in Florida? I assume this is some type of scan to get money…as I stated I have NO outstanding debts with HSBC or anyone else. Please check into this as soon as possible. Thank you.
