Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency
My friend ***, received a phone call from Kenneth Casey Jones, supposedly an attorney in NJ. He reported to *** that her grandson, *** had been arrested for DUI, and had to have stitches due to a car accident. In order to keep this arrest from appearing on his record, she was required to send him $4600 immediately. She was instructed to tell no one else, by a young man pretending to be her grandson. She was instructed to send the money to a "bail bondsman", a one Andy Rivers at 447 Lidgerwood Avenue, Unit A, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. I personally returned the call to Mr. Jones, and upon asking him for details, like where the grandson was being held, he promptly hung up the phone. No money was sent as requested, through the mail, with the bills placed in the pages of a magazine, then taped shut.
