Type of a scam Identity Theft
An elderly friend received 2 four Page letters to her AND her husband expressing that her data may have been compromised although they have no evidence of it. She already has theft protection. No idea who they are. Basically it’s an advertisement wanting them to sign up for protection and submit their private info. I do not appreciate this company targeting them as a people in their 80s and knowing that the words identity theft, Equifax, banking information, social security would be terrifying to a person my age they should be shut down. I don’t care if they are a legitimate corporation, these practices are illegal as they are lying from the first statement on the letter. It’s what they are insinuating that is the threat.
