I tried to google maps and a red screen came up stating my computer was being compromised and to call Windows tech support at 1-800-576-9647. I did call that number (actually located in India) and they said that they were a 3rd party IT support for Windows. They also said that my browser had been hijacked and talked me into a security package that was $799. for 3 years for high level security and charges were processed through "Duly Noted LLC". The tech signed the Credit Card Payment form not me. A few days later I found two charges for $3000.00 and later in the day a rep from Duly Noted called and said there had been a technical issue to the charge on their end and wanted to credit me and recharge me (I declined). I called Windows IT support and they had never heard of this company and told me I had been scammed. A reputable IT support found the Koobface worm on my system.

Received an error message stating a suspicious activity had occurred on my computer and I needed to call to fix it. They asked for $217.00 to correct the problem (which they apparently did, then asked for a sum for 1, 2 or 3 years security coverage. I chose the 2 year for $407.50. Tried to locate the company on your website and no such company exists. Am concerned this is a scam as the people I talked with on the phone had a foreign accent Could you tell me if this is a scam?
