I am a student from Pittsburgh, PA who was offered an internship in New York. I joined a number of website in search of housing for the duration of my internship. I was targeted through an advertising website called spareroom.com by a person named Diane Monalisa Lawson. This representative posed as an agent and a valid landlord through the website which I found out upon arrival, had been faulty information. This person gained my trust which allowed me to make the payments with no hesitation. When I arrived to the location that was given to me I realized there was no real place for me to stay and all communication had been cut off. I then realized that I had been scammed of my money and integrity. I have been reporting and trying to get this situation the proper attention that it needs. I am not only focused on the money, but I would like to prevent the chances of someone else being victimized by this person(s).
