Type of a scam Online Purchase
Deal Hound. I was tagged in a link that a friend innocently shared through Facebook. It advertised a specific item ( a set of twelve crochet hooks) for FREE, pay only shipping and handling… The link takes you to a site with many items to search through. On January first, twenty sixteen, I ordered the hooks, paid with my debit card, and received an order confirmation email within minutes . On January fourteenth, I received a shipping confirmation email… Feeling reassured, I then ordered a necklace for "free" and paid the shipping and handling. I received that order confirmation email within minutes. On January twenty seventh, having received no products and no further emails… I, both, wrote them through the confirmation emails that were sent, AND the website’s "contact us" button. As of today, February tenth, twenty sixteen, I have received NO response, and NO products. I wrote them again, but, upon closer inspection, I discovered the site itself has NO contact info- no email address, no mailing/physical address, no phone/fax number(s)… no names either. I’ll be contacting my bank in the morning. On their Facebook page, there is another member that has posted that a complaint has been filed… You have to become a "member" of the site to place an order. So, they have my name, my address (physical and shipping are the same), my phone number, and my email address. They also have my debit card number… I’d be happy to forward you copies of every email I’ve received from Deal Hound. Some are confirmation emails, others are soliciting me with a link to go to… I haven’t clicked on the links.
