Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was on the official Walmart site, ordered a product (which was real & delivered on time), I saw a link for product reviewers. I signed up to get more information. Several days later on a Thursday I received a text message stating I would receive information via priority mail. On Friday I received the priority mail with a letter and a cashiers check for $2940. I was to cash check, keep $540 as salary. Then take $2400 in cash to Walmart and buy six $400 Kroger gift cards. On my way to Walmart I was to text ‘location’ to 469-383-5766 so a representative could guide me through evaluation assignment. If I couldn’t find Kroger cards I was to text location to the same number for a new assignment I was to keep Kroger cards in a safe place to use for my next assignment. Then I was to send my evaluation report (5 questions) to [email protected] I was suspicious due to the fact they offered a big salary and a $100 bonus if I completed the assignment in 24 hours. Over a weekend my bank would not have had time to submit the check anyways. I hope this helps someone else so they don’t lose money. My husband and I are very glad we did not fall for this. It bothers me that this link was on the Walmart.com site. Like I said I ordered and received an item without a hitch. I did not cash check but did text location to the number and did not receive an answer—imagine that!!! Thank you ScamPulse.com for verifying this scam!
