I received a call posing at Dominion Energy and they said that I had a balance on my account. I was worried naturally so I called and the people on the phone were foreign. They wanted my account then my address so we could arrange payment or payment arrangements. I mistakenly did give my account but then hung up. They indicated that I had called at a prior time which was incorrect and then were impatient that I was not answering these questions fast enough. I hung up and reported to Dominion Energy ASAP and they sent to their fraud department and marked my account and assured me that no further harm could be done to me going forward. This is scary since an older person would probably give this information in good faith! I stopped the phone call before they would give me the balance but seeked to obtain money from me!
Received call from 800 251 7234 and was told to call 1 800 925 0701 due
to balance on account. I reported this a second ago but forgot to list
both numbers which were identified with the scan. They were foreign and
represented as Dominion Energy and said I had a balance and wanted to
set up a payment plan or payments. I reported to the real Dominion
Energy ASAP. I hung up prior to them getting very far.

Type of a scam Utility
Said Dominion Energy was shutting off service for 2 months overdue and that technicians were on their way. Said the amount due was $950 but that he would forgive the $200 late fee. He instructed me to go to the nearest Rite Aid or 711 to buy a prepaid card to pay the balance. I actually did go into the store and asked the clerk about the cards but couldn’t find them. She then told me to hang up the phone because it was a scam. I called Dominion Energy and SLPD to report it. Then, I called the person back and told him I had reported him.
