Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a Priority mail envelope that contained a cashier’s check for $1830.00 and a letter stating that I was selected as a Survey Agent. The check remitter name is: Lois Harper but the letter is titled: Candidview Research Inc. The postal package has a name for the sender listed as: Carol Yard, no company name on the postal envelope. The letter says that I should deposit the check then keep $300 for myself for a commission fee and $30 for logistics fee. It says I should take the other $1500 to Walmart and buy 3 $500 gift cards. It says that I am supposed to be keeping notice of each part of the transaction to complete a survey about it later. Says I should text a number that they give on the letter to say that I have received the check and also take pictures of the walmart cards and send to the same #. Says that the 3 walmart giftcards will be used in the next part of the assignment. I am attaching pictures of all of these things so that if anyone else receives this they will know that it is a scam.
