I was contacted by an individual who I knew through because they are in a position of authority in a sports endeavour that I participate in. This individual tried to sell me a pseudoscience-informed product that they claimed is able to cure cancer, because I had disclosed that I was experiencing health issues and that I recently had a close family member diagnosed with cancer. As well, they mentioned the ‘opportunity’ to "become a distributor" for Enagic (the company that they represent, which sells overpriced water ionizers and health food supplements) and make significant amounts of money with little effort by defrauding my family and friends.
