I contracted koffeeware to make a website for me using their content management system platform. The estimated time they told me was 1 to 2 months. 5 months later they told me they were not web designers and that I would have to find my own programmers. Seeing as they would not return my 1st half down money, I hired a programmer. He had problems getting it to work and Koffeeware was not helping him, so I called them. They told me he was the wrong type of programmer – I needed a Python/Django programmer. They did not mention that little detail before. I Found a Python/Django programmer but Koffeeware would not give him any information as to the set up and they took a week to 10 days to respond to any e-mails. Usually a content management system is under full control of the buyer to change prices, text, etc. – not Koffeeware – they had full control of most operations but would not do them for us without a long struggle. 2 years later I was just about ready to launch the website when they shut it down – because I was not paying for the monthly fee they wanted – which I told them I would only when it was up and running. A lot of their featured did not work or were non-existant. All in all, maybe $30,000 was lost and seeing as it was a photo gift website and most of the photo labs are gone, it will be difficult to sell the business without income for the last 2 years. They still advertise the fact that they will do it all.
