Type of a scam Credit Cards
Caller identified himself as a capital one agent offering a renewal of lower interest rate that was about to expire. He then asked for my expiration date on my card. I declined to give that information, then he gave me the first 6 numbers of my card. He also indicated that this was standard procedure. The callers number was 562 212-2613 which was a red flag for me since it was a local number rather than a toll free number. I then indicated to him that I would call capital one directly, at which point the call was terminated.
