I was contacted by a Scott Gordon from Continental Mergers and Acquisitions stating they want to buy my timeshare in Cabo San Lucas for nearly twice the market value I paid. They sent me an email with a "Purchase Offer Proposal" which landed in my Spam folder. I never opened the attachment because 1) It landed in my spam folder; 2) I could not locate any information on this company or its dealings, 2) my email provider was unable to authenticate the sender of the message; and 3) I read about an uncannily similar incident on the ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker site reported by someone in the California at the same time of my incident.
I ceased communication before the scammer could request any money, anticipating that this would be the case. I blocked the contact info from my phone and email, and reported the suspicious email to my provider.
