Type of a scam Charity
I am reporting for my mother, she received a call from Mr. Swanson asking for donation for local police department on behalf of Ohio cops for Kids. We were talking about it I called a friend that works at that department, no is soliciting funds for them.
A female from the charity called her back the next day, they explained that they call at different times of year for different areas. They called to confirm she would still send the donation. My mother feels obligated to give her pledge, I found information on your website that shows it to be a scam. Thank you, I can let her know that the our local police department will not receive her money, if she sends to them.
She did pledge to give them $15.00, the physical address given on the info sheet is 2752 E Center St., North Kingsville, Ohio. I googled the address and it isn’t a business, looks like residential area.
