Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted on Monday, October 21st, 2019 by an unnamed person through text message about possible employment at a work at home position. I followed up, expressing my interest; where I was then instructed to Add someone by the name of Michelle Carter on the messaging app Google Hangouts. We went through employment screening, after which she offered me a position, informing me that I would be recieving a check that would cover all of my supplies needed for working. She then put me in contact with a man named Mitch Evans who is supposedly my training supervisor. On Tuesday, October 22nd, he informed me that the check would be sent that day and I should be recieving it Wednesday, October 23rd.
It is now Wednesday, October 23rd, and I have not recieved the check yet. It seems very, very suspicious to me as to why they would be having me pay for everything rather than taking it out of my payroll.
