Type of a scam Online Purchase

Saw an ad for a motorcycle on Entered my email address to send message to seller that I was interested. Was contacted via email. She said that it was her husband’s motorycycle and that he had gotten killed in Afghanistan, so the family encouraged her to start getting rid of his stuff so she could move on. She also stated that she was a MSgt in the USAF, and was currently in Hawaii (along with the motorcycle). If I agreed, she would start a process using eBay’s gift card program, which included buyer protection, funds held in escrow, etc. It was wordsmith-ed pretty good. I told her I agreed, and to start the process. I soon got an email from [email protected], and although it looked very real, I was suspicious. I called eBay and spoke with a customer service representative. They told me to check my eBay messages. I had no messages. They said it was definitely a scam. Remember…..if a deal sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
