I have been receiving many calls to my home phone number from Medical Alert. We feel this is harassment. This had been going on for a few months. I had three calls this morning from them. It sounds like the same man calling from Medical Alert. He changes his name. Nathan, Tom , Daniel. Sometimes it is a woman. The phone number in my caller ID changes. The calls this morning were from 468-6818. Did not show an area code. He states he is with Medical Alert. We have told him we don’t want it. Take us off your calling list. Fifteen minutes later they call back. We don’t let them ask for a Social Security number. We hang up.

Not sure if this is legit or not though mighty suspicious. They call several times per week from an odd and "Unavailable Number" which is 262-171-5088 or 262-136-2498. I’ve spoken with them a few times for my mother. They are selling MEDICAL ALERT systems and they say that is the name of their company out of Orlando, FL. Prices seem ok, $29, $39 or $59 but when I ask if I can call them back they say they are marketers so they will have to call me back. PLUS they are offering $2000 !!!! worth of coupons. If this is true, I’m sure they are coupons one would not use…too good to be true.

I get these calls from 847-275-5282 this time on June 5, 2018. I get many other robocalls from 847-275-***. I use "*" because the area code and prefix stays the same but the last 4 digit constantly change. I put them in my reject call list but they just call again with another new number changing the last 4-digits.

Can this be stopped?!

Received phone call, caller identified himself as Medical Alert Representative and was on a recorded line, then proceeded to ask me if I could hear him. As soon as I said "yes" line went dead. This just happened, so I am not sure of any consequences. Will continue to monitor bank accounts, cable bill, etc as recommended.

Received a call at 9:05am, with the caller ID indicating the phone number 8087372561 and the name Carol ***. When I answered it, a female stated "This is a recorded call from from Medical Alert. Can you hear me?" After a few seconds, I responded "Ah yes?" The female did not continue, and after a few seconds I hung up.

Unfortunately, we know a Carol ***, who lives in the 737 prefix area. But, after hanging up, I remembered the article that warned of scammers who try to get you to say "YES", to record it for use.

Consumer received an automated call stating you have been selected to get a medical alert/life alert entirely free, just press one. Consumer pressed one and spoke to a man who stated it was as little as a dollar a day. When consumer questioned about it being free the caller stated the equipment was free, not the service.

Although my phone is on the National Do-Not-Call list I receive multiple auto-dialed robo-calls that start in with scary statistics about falls and elderly then says you are eligible for a free medical alert system that the system is paid for and the shipping is paid for and all you need to do is verify your information by pressing 1 and speaking to the attendant. The wording of the message is misleading and easy for the target group of elderly to misunderstand. I suspect any so called free medical alert system comes with a hefty monthly fee for monitoring services that is never mentioned up front, either that or this is a group phishing for personal information that could be used for ID fraud.
