Shirley C. Johnson, Associate Attorney

Type of a scam Government Grant

I thought I was facebook messaging a friend but I realize now that the friend had been hacked and it was not her that was messaging me. At the time I believed it was her and she told me she had just received a $100,000 grant through an attorney named Betty C Johnson who was kind and helpful. She arranged for me to friend Shirley C. Johnson who immediately facebook messaged me and sent me a list of questions to answer about myself which I did. Then after a few minutes she messaged me that I qualified for a grant but I would have to pay a minimum of $3000 clearance fee to qualify for a $100,000 grant. She sent a list of increasingly higher clearance fees according to amount of the grant which could be as a high as $700,000. I knew this process went through much too quickly and I should not have to pay $3000 to receive a grant. I realized this was a scam. I quickly unfriended the phoney friend and the phoney attorney who both continued to message me but I ignored their messages and the messages stopped. Later when I checked on the Shirley C. Johnson facebook page that I had looked at earlier, it had disappeared. I sent a facebook message to my actual facebook friend to alert her to what was happening in her name, but she hasn’t responded. I posted a message on my facebook page to warn others about this scam. When I looked at my actual friends facebook page, other friends were saying they’d received friend requests from her, and they were wondering if she had been hacked.
