Type of a scam Employment

I received a simple email stating that there was a need for a secret shopper in my area and it paid $220 per shopping event. In a second email, it was more specific what I would be looking for – misuse, fraudulent practices, rude and sloppy service, employees that had no training and businesses that opened late and closed early. I was to buy a Green Dot Money Pack with their money that they were going to send me. I researched GDMP and found that they had in fact changed and were no longer called GDMP. That was red flag number one. My fee was to be $200. This was $20 less. I still sent them my address and let them know of my interest. In three days, I received the infamous letter, full of grammatical errors (red flag number two) and a check made payable to me in the amount of $2860 (red flag number 3). The letter stated that I was to deduct $250 for my first assignment and then I could also spend $50 on product in the store just for me. That would make my payday $300. My first assignment was to go to either a Wal-Mart, CVS, WalGreens, etc. and purchase a Money Gram (this was different from previous email). I was given the breakdown on how split up the money and then promised a $100 bonus to get this all done in a 24 hour period. This sent off red glaring rockets for me. Then, the name of the person I was to send the balance of $2450 to was Xiaojun Bai in China. I was not sent any survey forms to complete, but I did receive a number I could text or call 24 hours or I could email Ronald Perelman
