I parked in a parking lot that did not have an attendant. I went to get change to pay the machine to park there, but when I returned the attendant — named Tony — handed me a parking citation for 72 dollars. I believe it’s illegal for private property owners to issue citations with monetary sanctions. I asked Tony if there was any way to get the ticket dismissed and he told me to pay him 24 dollars cash. Not knowing any better, I paid him the money and he handed me a handwritten receipt saying my citation was dismissed. Then I got home and Google the company and found that the Yelp reviews were all about how it’s a scam.
