I received a call from California 8317501761. I went to voicemail and the recording offered an Amazon job opportunity to apply for at webstorejobs.org.

Instead of going to the website, I entered "spam? webstorejobs.org" into the browser and MANY warnings came up indicating that this was a spam.

I was just contacted via cell and they left a VM with the exact language used in a scam of another victim. They promised work from home opportunities with Amazon. I went to the website Webjobs.org and was told I would need to pay a small enrollment fee. I did not, but went to this site for info and saw that this was indeed a scam.

This is a recorded message that indicates a call from Sarah who is calling because she saw my resume online. It’s a supposed opportunity to work from home listing products for Amazon. When I went to the webstorejobs.org website, or one closely related to it, there was no specific job mentioned connected at all with Amazon. It did explain however that you could enroll your email and pay for an enrollment kit. That was the catch. When I called the number given above back, it directs you to go to a different site, hometyping.org. There is a disclaimer note at the bottom however that says it is not affiliated whatsoever with Amazon. Definitely a scam. My question is, we can report the Scams all we want to, but what are the “powers that be” doing about it??? There should be strict restrictions on creating websites and fake telephone numbers, so that these problems should never even happen to begin with.

This voicemail claim to see I resume on there site or internet, called and left there "non-profit recruitment firm" website. Their website said on the voicemail to be webstorejobs.org and/or webstorejob.org, it also claimed to be hiring 23 people right now to list products, and post reviews for "Amazon", so we know who a target is. The phone number they called from is (815) 427-4838, but the message from "Sarah" sounded fishy like a little edited by a computer but that could go untraced. Also claimed to be paying from 17-32 dollars hourly. It was a voicemail on my Fathers phone, however when I his daughter have created resume before I have used his cell number.

Scam Description

(Note, I do NOT have a resume posted anywhere online as I am not even looking for employment at this particular time & haven’t for at least 5 years.)

Here is message I received: “Hello this is (name) calling with webstorejobs.org, a nonprofit recruitment firm. I saw your resume online and I’m calling about an online opportunity working with Amazon you’ll be listing products and posting reviews online in your spare time Hourly pay ranges from $17-$32 an hour we are currently hiring 23 people this month so please register today at webstorejobs.org……that’s Webstorejobs.org”.

My friend got a voicemail that matched the other webstorejobs.org report almost exactly. (I don’t know what the phone number was, and we’re both in South Texas so this is apparently nation-wide).

"Hello this is Sarah calling with Web store jobs.org a nonprofit recruitment firm. I saw your resume online and I’m calling about an online opportunity working with Amazon you’ll be listing products and posting reviews online in your spare time. I really pay ranges from $17-$32 an hour. We are currently hiring 23 people this month. So please register today @ webstorejobs.org that web store jobs.org."

(She does surveys sometimes and thought it *might* be legit because of that, so I googled the company name and got a "no love, doesn’t exist" result twice. That’s when I looked them up on BBB and found that scam report. It was eerie because the wording was virtually identical.)

The website is asking me to pay$47 to get the job….

I don’t have a resume posted anywhere on the internet…… But for the last 2 days before this suspicious call. I have been filling out forms on websites that offer different price comparison quotes from multiple Car Insurance companies. The Price Quote websites asked for my personal information including my phone number. This is the only time I have given anyone online my phone number.

Said you could work from home earning huge money by simply having your own website that makes you money with out you having to even do anything basically, and that I was selected because they wanted to boost the economy in my area. (Which has been hit hard recently by fires, so at first it seemed sort of legit)

I received a call from someone named *** claiming to work for a nonprofit organization called webstorejobs.org that is affiliated with Amazon. They called my phone two times within 30 minutes of the original call and then a third time a hour later, where they left a voicemail . The call came from Sacramento, CA and claimed they saw my resume online…I never posted my resume anywhere.

I really pay ranges from $17-$32 an hour. We are currently hiring 23 people this month. So please register [email protected] that web store jobs.org." The website and phone call seem like they are connected to amazon. They are not. It is a scam. They promise a lot of money for little investment. They are just stealing people’s money.
