Online computer repair scam…a message comes on the screen, saying that a virus is trying to attack your computer, and that they can help you fix it, if you call them and pay $249.99…when in reality, there was nothing wrong with the computer. They say it takes about 4 to 6 hours to fix, and you have to leave your computer on the entire time, etc.
The name that comes up with the warning is Microdiagnostics, and their website says they’re a MICROSOFT pratner, but MICROSOFT said they would never approach anyone on the computer like this, etc.
And when you call the either phone number, sometimes they say it’s "we fix computers online", and sometimes they say it’s "Microdiagnostics"
