I sent an email in response to a listing on Craigslist Madison for a vacation rental house. I received 3 emails asking for more information, including some that was already provided, in strangely worded language, then a fourth message with instructions to send a payment via Wells Fargo "to secure your booking".

I received a call from this number with an Orlando area code. I answered as I was expecting a call from a dr. office. They pretended not to hear me and told me that they were having trouble with their headset. They tried to offer me a vacation in Orlando. I hung up. I’m not sure what I said though in the meantime and didn’t think anything of this until I saw something tonight on nextdoor about this scam.
