Vacation Rental Scam By John Roger and Teresa Collins

Tommy –

Victim Location 30809

Type of a scam Rental

Saw the Craigslist ad for a wonderful vacation home. Looked to good to be true – (1) low rental rate that included taxes, no fees; (2) The people claimed to be the owners and replied by email that they’d had bad experiences with rental mgmt companies, which I knew to be a line used by scammers; (3) the rental was listed on a legitimate site at considerably more, (4) they provided a phone number in Alabama, and neither the rental home or mgmt company are in that state. They were urgent in requesting payment through PayPal and similar means. I contacted the genuine agent (member of ScamPulse.com for 10+ years), who confirmed that they were not the owners.
