The voice mail said the caller was Kevin Mason calling about a pending legal action from the U.S. Treasury. The message was not addressed to any person’s name. He left a phone # 971-317-4003 requesting a callback or further legal action including grand jury investigation and court appearance would follow. I dialed the number. It never rang and went to a busy signal. I do not know if there would hae been a request for money if someone had answered.

Type of a scam Tax Collection
I did not pick up or return the call but assume the caller wanted money. We got one of these before but the caller stated he was from the IRS. Here’s the message. I attached the audio.
In an accented almost robotic voice the message states,
Hi. This message is intended to contact you. My name is kevin mason and I’m calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending the your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional offence. To avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge .or a grand jury for a federal criminal offence. My number is . I’d like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank You.
The message loops three times. At the end of the 3rd repeat, a woman says in a snarky sweet voice, “Goodbye.”
