I received telephone calls from phone no. 1-000-000-0000 days prior to speaking to someone. When I answered the phone caller hung up. 3 days later received call from the same number conversation as follows:
Hello: Betty (anonymous name)
Caller: Betty
Betty: Yes, May I ask what’s this call reference to?
Caller: You have been selected among Thousand others, to receive $9,000.00 to be put into your Account today within 25 minutes and I will transfer you to an agent, This is a federal grant that you do not have to repay. I asked him to give me the name of US government agency. He said "US Federal Treasury Humane Service 200 Independence Ave S Washington DC. I told him I believe this is a scam, and I am on a fixed income, can not afford to lose my money. I suggested that he send documents in the mail, for me to examine and look over them. Caller money will be wired into savings account or sent by Western Union I told him since he refuses to send info by mail I am not interested. I did not give him an opportunity to ask for money. The person had a foreign accent.
