A person by the name of jonas Lee called sisters phone. He offered her a student grant for 9 000 dollars. He gave her a grant activation code#SA139 and a phone number to get it activated. The number was 202 642 5773. When she called this number they did not answer. She called three times within 10 min interval before they returned her call. Finally they called back stating that she had to first purchase an e bay card in order to recieve the 9 000 dollars. They said whatever the ebay card cost they would reimburse her on top of the 9000 dollars. Also jonas lee was rushing my sister to purchase the card by a certain time because their bank would close shortly. I advised my sister to call

to investigate before making any purchase. We asked for the the adress, the name of the company and said we will call back. However after I decided to speak to them and they told me that my sister will have to pay 200 dollars for this ebay card. We decided not to go forth with his granyt because it was sketchy. After a woman called me and asked me if we wanted a grant. I said to her we got a call from jonas lee already about a grant. Didn’t jonas tell you about our call. She hung the up phone on us.

I’ve been getting calls from the US Federal Reserve Grant Department.Today I answered. I spoke to man who said I was eligible to receive a grant for $9400 because the Bank of New York does randomly selected grants. He told me I had not applied for the grant, I was just selected because of the economy. I was to call back 951-643-2413. I did and a woman answered, she sounded asleep. I could tell somebody was telling her what to say. She told me to go to Walmart and buy a $250 registration card. She said if I go to Walmart and purchase a $250 registration card she would reimburse me for it when she released the grant. She said she would walk me through it. She said after I do all that, she would release $9650, the $9400 grant plus the cost of the registration card. She gave me a tracking number of TA1027. They had foreign accents. They asked if I was married. They asked if I lived alone. She told me to keep this private. I said I wanted to call ScamPulse.com and she replied "you really need to go to Walmart and do this".

I was contacted through Facebook messenger by someone who I thought was a Facebook friend that I’ve known for years asking me if I heard of the US Federal Government Grant Program. I responded no and asked for more information about it which was provided to me along with the name of the person that he was referred to that helped him get money through this program. I reached out to this person to inquire about the program and it went from there with applying, sending money, purchasing Amazon cards, to having 4k deposited into my account, which I did give permission to do,to having it withdrawn from my account 6 days later, which I did not give permission to do, when I refused to do the last transaction of withdrawing 3k. This took my account into the negative balance and when my payroll check was direct deposited it took my whole check due to the amount of the credit balance. The bank also kept charging NSF fees to the account. This is currently under investigation with the bank with the claims department.

The first man said that I qualified for a once time only federal grant from the US government because I paid my taxes and bills on time and had never filed for bankruptcy. He gave me a grant ID number and a phone number to another person to verify and make sure that I was able to get my $9200 without any problems from my nearest Walmart, Walgreens, or Money Gram or Western Union store. I called that number and the lady, Nora, said that I would have to call her back as soon as I got to the store so she could walk me through the process to get the right card and my money, after I paid a refundable $250 fee for the card. I called my local Walmart and asked if they had heard of such card and the lady said no, they don’t have any such thing.

I received a phone call on my cell, from "Olivia" of the U. S. Federal Grants Department. She told me I had been awarded a Federal Grant of $*** that would not have to be paid back. She had an accent and asked if I wondered why I won the grant. She told me it was because I paid my bills and taxes on time and no trouble with the law. In other words, I’ve been a good citizen? She then gave me a Confirmation Code and phone number to call, so I could begin the process of receiving the grant money. I could get it today, if I just call the number when we hung up and give them the code she gave me. I called the number and Michael Adams (with an accent) answered the phone. He asked for the code, then my name. He asked if I had access to stores like Family Dollar, Walmart, Target, etc. where I could buy gift cards. I said I had to buy a Google Play gift card for $***, in order to receive the money. Then he’ll give me a Tracking #, I take the card to a Western Union or Money Gram, give them the Tracking # and they will give me the $*** in cash. He wanted me to stay on the phone with him through the whole process. I told him I had trouble with my phone and could not stay on with him.

I have received 2 calls from these people – sounded like same woman. First I told them to send the money to my Pastor and they said if I didn’t want the money that was okay and they hung up on me. Today they called again and I gave them any information they wanted by telling them things I made up so I could try to get their information to report them. I asked if they minded if I called the US Government or the IRS to make sure this was not a scam and they said okay and then I told them I did not want the money because I did not work for it and if I had not worked for it I did not deserve it and they should give it to widows and orphans, and sometime during this they hung up on me again.

All I needed to do was call 315-332-1364 and provide my grant ID #(which he proceeded to provide me with) to speak with an Actual Federal Grant agent, and not just an associate like he was (WHAT??!!?) at the Department HQ. I would need to provide my ID # to enable me to receive instructions on how to obtain the funds rewarded to me. Needless to say I didn’t bother calling as alarm bells we already going iff in my head. The individual calls to say that you are entitles for $9,200 under the American Recovery act of 2009.

The name of address and the service sounds legitimate. –200 Independence Ave. South West Washington DC, 20201.

They claim they are from the US Federal Grant Dept, as part of Health and Human Services.

They continue to mention that they are from the American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009, under law III section 5.

It is a total FRAUD. Just think about it?

Why would anyone want to give you $9,200 for free?

I confirmed/gave them my email, cell and address. Luckily I realized what was going on and refused to give them my social security # and bank act.

All I had to do was call 253-336-5437 and give them id#GM1146. I Googled 253 area code, was Washington. I called # spoke to James Hardy ext: 1004, my money would be sent via Money gram, after completing my registration. (A fee of $250 was required, but would be added to my grant, making it $9,950. Upon discovering I NOT HAVE $250 he asked if could get from friend or family? We finalized by my agreeing to take out of my social security check (delay a bill for that 1 day, until I get to Money Gram to pick up my cash). I would call him on 2/3 upon receipt of my government retirement check. No, they could not take directly from grant money. This finished today’s call. Recieved several phone calls from someone sounding as if they are in another country identifying themselves as someone from the US Federal Government Grants Group. The calls are showing different ANI’s ( caller ID) each time and none are dialable ( which is against the law). They are from area codes 214,999,222,206,000. When asked if this is a scam, the caller responds saying "I say F%&K YOU!" " You say I’m a scam, I say F&*K YOU!" They are calling the cell phone constantly now. Caller was getting irritated becasue I asked for a dialable number to call them back on. Callers sound asian on the phone.
