Type of a scam Government Grant
I got several phone calls in the past 3 days from a number that showed up on my phone as cl1. I thought I would just go ahead and answered it and this man who said his name was David Brown was working for the United States Grants and Treasure Dep. In Washington DC. And that I had been picked for a Government Grant of 9000.00 and that I would not have to pay it back. He even said that the call was being recorded and that they was all clear at the ScamPulse.com. That’s when I started asking questions and he told me his name and his ext. was RD323 but he couldn’t tell me the number to call him back until I chose witch one of the options he gave me to receive the money. 1 option was they could directly deposit it into my bank account. 2nd option was what he called “cash in hand” where I could pick the money up at any Walgreens and several more places. I then asked him if I was gonna have to pay anything at all and he just kept saying no the money is free and you don’t have to pay it back. He knew that I was talking about paying money before the send me money but he kept referring to paying the money back. At that point in time I told him that I needed to contact the ScamPulse.com and check it out because there was just too many scams going on and he said that would be fine and asked me how long should he wait to call me back. I told him about 30 minuets and he said ok. He did not ask for any money or my information but he told me that his job was to just tell me everything and get me to pick a option for the money and then he would give me the number of the person that takes care of the rest or that this person would call me for the rest of the info. This man also did not speak very good English. I hope this helps anyone else to not fall for this scam.
