Type of a scam Employment

A woman on a fake Facebook profile asked if anyone wanted to be paid to take surveys to text her at the 385 phone number.

Once you do so, she’ll tell you you get paid into your online banking account a specific amount up front to complete 6 surveys that you have 30 days to finish. Meanwhile, she gets a small commission for every person she sets up. But the $ goes into your account, so you have to remove that amount and wire transfer it to her. When you ask questions, she has a man called "Jerry" who is her "manager" (and just happens to call on the same # (because the # is linked)) call to explain the whole thing. He says the company is non profit. They pay $600 a survey because the companies they deal with are major corporations like Walmart, etc.

They ask you to give them your first and last name, email address, username and password for your online banking. All so you can set up an account. Get paid the next day, and take the surveys.

The website is a simple, small one. There is no address. They aren’t in the phone book or on any search engine.

When I expressed that my bank explained to me, the only info anyone needs to add $ to a bank account is the account and routing numbers, he argued and said I know nothing about online banking or I would know they need my log in information.

When I said I would call Mountain America (The bank they state the company goes through) to make sure the company is ligitimate, he said he didn’t have time for people like me with so many questions and that doesn’t believe it is ligitimate off the bat.

I gave him my name and email address before getting the whole story and piecing things together, so I hope he does nothing with my info, but I did NOT give him my account info….So fingers crossed I’m not a part of any other scams he tries to pull.
