Thay want $500 for 30.000.00. And wants me to go to Walmart to send them money. Used a Facebook friend sed thay were him to tell me about the money

Savannah – Oct 02, 2020

On October 1, 2020 someone posing as one of my facebook friends ((Linda Novik Fowler) claimed to have received $100,000. in cash from The Trust Community Foundation. My friend explained that she saw my name on a list of people who would qualify for money because they were of low income status. She also claimed that she had received $100,000 from this organization in cash (with a picture attached) delivered via Federal Express. She stated that if I agreed she would contact the agent, Frank Smith with my name and I would simultaneously contact him and we would proceed with the application. I (trusting Linda since I consider her to be a trustworthy friend) did this. I contacted (via Facebook Messenger) Frank Smith and we proceeded with the so called application (stupid me). At the end, I was told that I would have to send Frank Smith $1,000. handeling fee and I knew at that point I had been scammed. I immediately told Frank Smith I was not interested. That too many people, like me, had been victums of this type of thing. I tried to call my friend, Linda and the phone number I had for her was no longer in service. Hummmm. Well, long story short, she had been hacked and when I viewed her facebook page, several of her friends had also received messages of this nature. When I viewed the TTCF web site I realized that your organization gives money to worthy groups, not low income senior citizens like myself. Just letting you know that you have been used by unscruplious people. I almost feel prey to their scan. I am concerned that they have my name and address, my age, and my mother’s name. Thank you, Barbara Brandau

Tia Deloris, Linda Cline, Manuela Gonzales Cantu – all three fake names and facebook pages (using the same page, just changing the name) tried to push the “Trust Community Foundation” on me. Then called me a “ninny” because I didn’t fall for it.

This person claimed to be Agent Lorettal Lynch Lyman working for Trust Community Foundation telling me through a friends facebook profile telling me to add them acting like my friend saying it was legit. I paid $2000 for the grant then all the sudden they wanted $3500 for the taxes, then all the sudden $5000 for insurance. They managed to scam $5000 out of me and because i couldnt afford the rest she then asked for personal info and my facebook password. Talking to me with my friends facebook that is was real i trusted this friend. So i was stupid and gave personal info. So i was scammed $5000 now my personal info is out there and they locked me out of my facebook profile using it to scam my family and friends. Sadly most people on my facebook are close to me they let me know and i tell them to report it.

A person identifying as Jacqueline Lowman on Facebook messaged me stating she had seen my name on a list on Trust Community Foundation Programs website when she collected her own money.

She kept leading me on…telling me to email a person at the foundation and to follow his directions exactly. This lasted for an hour and a half. The person said I would need $1000 to get the $25,000. I told this person at the Foundation that I didn’t have the money to send to get the $25,000. Still waiting.I was just asked if I could get a loan. My answer was NO! Still trying to get me to do something so I “not loose(sic) this opportunity.”

The person contacted me via Facebook. The person used a photo of my cousin who lives in Clinton, MS. The Facebook profile name is Karee B. Heath. The person asked me have I heard about TCF. The person proceeds to tell me that they got a $75,000 grant. The person told me to contact the agent Paul Smith to see if my name was on the winning list. I corresponded with said person this morning via text. The person asked for my full name to see if I was on the winning list. The person sent me back a confirmation ticket with information a tracking number to claim the winning money. The person then requested full home address, date of birth, mobile number, email, monthly income cash or "cheque," and network carrier. The person told me to answer back each question one by one. I was told to keep the info confidential. Then I was sent a list for a payment amount to choose from starting at to $500 for $50,000 to pay $5,000 for $750,000. The out of pocket expenses were said to cover tax clearance, delivery fees and tax exemption. I never spoke with the person over the phone only through Facebook messenger and text message. I believe it is the same person because they used the word "okay" often. I provided this person with my info, but no SSN or bank information.

Someone with broken English tried to convince me they were my friend on facebook (actually a cousin account that is older and unlikely to reach out like that). Said he was doing great and blessed (didn’t sound like my relative lol). Asked if I received his message about TCF and explained with these words "Trust Community Foundation that give out free money to all people and help them maintain good standard living" then asked Have you heard of them, and suggested i contact them via 256-472-0523 "you can send them a message only and they don’t receive a call just ordinary text and they will get back to you." Then they asked over and over – did you contact them yet – which I replied yes that I was getting a 100,000 grant and was very excited (I googled Trust Community). person responded "Okay good. what is the name of the agent. Are you there with me" I will tell them an agent’s name and I’m sure it will be the wrong name so guess that’s all I have to report. For now I simply asked where I can send my $500 Western Union – as that’s what I saw in other scams – guess they caught on I was yanking their chain – too easy 🙂

My friend was hacked on Facebook and then her fake account contacted me about the Community Trust Foundation, supposedly a government program, offering money to individuals to eradicate poverty among the low income, disabled, etc. There was a link to contact https:m.me/juliasmith453. I did click on the link and was contacted through messenger by "Julia Smith". She said because of my physical address (the only personal info I gave her) that I was eligible for free grant money and did I want to collect this money. I wrote back and said not interested and deactivated my account on Facebook. I hope this was enough to end this scam.

I just received a Social Media on Facebook Messenger name Patrick Williams saying that I won $150,000 but I have to pay Mr. James Smith who is a FedEx delivery guy in Tacoma, WA $500 shipping fee when I can’t afford $500 in order for them to deliver to my house. So when I told Patrick I don’t have $500 on me, he decreased my payment to $100 iTunes card just to help me out because he doesn’t want me to lose $150,000 and he said he couldn’t accept $100 iTunes because the FedEx delivery Mr. James Smith wants $200 iTunes gift card, and I don’t have $100 or $200 on me. If I don’t pay $100 or $200 iTunes card and send that picture I paid for to them to complete it, they will inform me with FBI.

I do have Mr. James Smith from Tacoma, Washington’s cell number. It is 1 (601) 336-0843.

I was contacted by a friend on facebook who said he had gotten a free government grant and said I should contact the company to see if I was a winner too. I got a text message from them claiming to be Trust Community Foundation, and said I had won $650,000 grant and I just needed to send them $850 in itunes gift cards. They asked me for my name, mother’s name, address, age, marital status, phone number, email address and whether I wanted the money in cash or check. They were quite convincing and asked me to go to Walmart or CVS to get the gift cards. When I had not done that, they texted me again, asking me to do it so the winnings could be delivered asap. I ended up going to CVS and the clerk there stopped me from buying the gift cards and suggested I get this checked out before I sent anything to anyone. I also called the local Community Foundation who told me they had nothing to do with these people, and assured me they wouldn’t ask for itunes gift cards. I contacted the BBB and they told me it was a scam so I did not send off money. The people keep texting me, asking if I have the money and had sent it off yet. They are relentless in trying to get some money. I told them I thought they were a scam, and that grants are free and they said the money is to unlock my ballot winner box so the government can confirm me as a winner. I am ignoring them now, but wanted other people to know about the scam so they can protect themselves.

On April 28, 2017, I called Trust Community Foundation as I had heard from a friend that Trust Community Foundation was providing give-away money for whatever I needed extra money for. At that time I began a chat conversation via my phone. Trust Community Foundation gave a first name (I can’t remember) that stated that they had money through a government grant available to help me with different things. I asked if I had to pay it back and they said no if was free money. Over the chat they sent me information that included things such as sending your children to school, for your vehicle, to start a business. I was hesitating so they asked that I hurry up as they had more paperwork to do. I said I was in a serious accident and have shoulder injuries and needed a hip replacement. At that time they stated, are you for real? I then hung up the phone.
